Narayanapur Dam water to be released

BANGALORE: Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai has directed the advisory committee of Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Ltd. to release water from the Narayanapura reservoir to the Mulwad Lift Irrigation East and West Canals on Sunday.

According to a press release from Horticulture Minister S.K. Bellubbi, the Alamatti Left and Right Bank Canals would get water from the reservoir. He said that Bijapur district had started experiencing drought.

Mr. Bellubbi said that he had directed the Bijapur Deputy Commissioner to take steps to see that farmers did not find any shortage of fodder for their cattle.
