Medical Council seeks action

NEW DELHI: Delhi Medical Council secretary Girish Tyagi, while speaking at a panel discussion on “Violence and litigation in medical practice” on Saturday urged the Delhi Government to bring an Act to prohibit violence against medical service persons and damage to property in medical care institutions.

He added that “Such offence should be made cognisable and non-bailable and persons booked under the said Act should be awarded minimum imprisonment for three years and fine.”
