BJP has not kept promises: JD(S)
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE: The State Budget 2008-09 is “anti-people”, Janata Dal (Secular) State president Merajuddin Patel has said.
In a press release here on Saturday, Mr. Patel said that none of the promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party in its election manifesto had been reflected in the budget.
Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had failed to keep the promises on rice at Rs. 2 a kg; stipend of Rs. 1,500 for unemployed youth; and a 10,000 MW power project, Mr. Patel said.
Stating that the BJP had come to power by making false promises, he said that the budget had failed to keep the promise on increasing outlay for the development of Bangalore.
