JAIPUR: Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday announced an incentive of Rs.2,000 to every employee of the five power companies in Rajasthan for reducing the power transmission and distribution losses by five per cent in the past one year. Ms. Raje, who made the announcement at an “Energy Day” function organised in a village in Ajmer district, said that for every single per cent reduction in T&D losses the employees would be getting Rs.400 as incentive in future as well. The three power distribution companies in Rajasthan have brought down the transmission losses by 10 per cent during the past two years, said Ms. Raje who also launched the Mukhyamantri Sabkeliye Bijli Yogna by releasing power connections to hamlets with less than a population of 100. July 19 is observed in the State as “Energy Day”. Under the power-for-all scheme, connections are given out in hamlets at a nominal payment of Rs.3,500 to each household.
