Andhra keen to expedite luxury tourist train proposal

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Andhra Pradesh Government is keen to impress upon the Centre to expedite the proposal to start a luxury tourist train linking the four Southern States to develop a specialised Southern tourism circuit.

Addressing a news conference coinciding with a Andhra Pradesh tourism road show, Sabyasachi Ghosh, Director-Tourism, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, said the proposed train, christened “Southern Splendour”, would be a win-win situation for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu to woo both domestic and overseas tourists. “It will be a unique situation where like the Golden Triangle, it could lead to a Golden Quadrilateral where the tourist attractions of four Southern States could be strengthened,” Mr. Ghosh said.
