TNEB proposal turned own

CHENNAI: The State government, while giving its approval for “power holiday” for cities and towns and zonal holidays for industry, has turned down the Electricity Board’s proposal for reducing the duration of power supply for the farm sector. According to the proposal, the six-hour supply during day would be reduced to four hours. This would save nearly 700 megawatt daily, says a source.
