NCC annual training camp in Tirupur

Coimbatore: The 4 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC is conducting a Combined Annual Training Camp (CTC) for boy and girl cadets numbering 640 from NCC Coimbatore Group at Chikkanna Government Arts College, Tirupur.

The camp that commenced on July 12 will go on till July 21.

A release from Lt.Col.Pankaj Gaur, Camp Commandant, said that training was imparted by a team of 45 NCC officers from various schools/colleges. The cadets were from Coimbatore, Erode, Salem and the Nilgiris districts.

Competition

The camp was inaugurated by Lt.Col. Pankaj Gaur, who informed the cadets that the camp would help select the NCC Coimbatore Group team for inter-group competition of the Thal Sainik Camp scheduled to be held from July 21 in Chennai.

As part of the Thal Sainik Camp, the cadets would be trained in firing, map reading, obstacle and tent pitching. Lt.Col.Pankaj Gaur also said that there would be a selection for the cadets aspiring to participate in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi next year.
