KOCHI: If China and India worked together, the real Olympic spirit of humanity could prevail and world could be rid of wars in future, said V.R. Krishna Iyer, former Supreme Court judge. He was speaking at the inaugural function of ‘Beijing Welcomes You’, an exhibition of photographs connected to the Beijing Olympics. Kerala Lalitkala Akademi and Indian Society for Cultural Cooperation and Friendship (ISCUF) is organising the exhibition at the Durbar Hall Art Centre. Exhibition openedMr. Iyer recollected watching the Moscow Olympics as the then president of ISCUF. The exhibition was inaugurated by District Collector M. Beena. Chairman of Kerala Lalitkala Akademi C.N. Karunakaran presided. Secretary Satyapal, Xie Fie, Counsellor (Cultural), and Yang Hui, Attaché (Cultural), Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, K.G. Komalan, State president and Sony B. Thengamom, State general secretary, ISCUF and Corporation councillor E.M. Sunil Kumar were present. Sixty-two photographs on the Olympic preparations in Beijing are on exhibition. The exhibition will be on till July 25.
