KOCHI: Land for rehabilitation was allotted on Saturday to 75 families that were displaced for the road and rail connectivity for the proposed Vallarpadam International Container Transhipment Terminal (ICTT). District Collector M. Beena drew the lot allocating plots to 13 families from Moolamppilly, 14 families from Eloor and 48 families from Cheranalloor panchayats on Saturday. Dr. Beena said that with this, all the evictees had been allotted land for their rehabilitation as directed by the court. However, 65 families evicted in Cheranalloor village for the ICTT connectivity, whose land was either taken over under the Land Acquisition Act or had accepted the price fixed by the District Level Purchase Committee had been left out of the ambit of land allocation.
