Asks for wider coverage under loan-waiver scheme Hyderabad: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was closeted with Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram here on Saturday discussing about the political scenario in Delhi in the backdrop of UPA government being forced to seek a vote of confidence on the nuclear deal issue. The Chief Minister is stated to have briefed the Finance Minister on the possible manoeuvrings of Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu in Delhi with the leaders of national political parties. Courtesy callDr. Reddy met Mr. Chidambaram for about 20 minutes at Lake View Guest House where the latter stayed for the day to fulfil his various engagements in the city. It was described by the Chief Minister’s Office as a courtesy call. Dr. Reddy, however, used the occasion to plead for coverage of more number of farmers in the State under the Central government’s loan waiver scheme and for assistance to the State government for its decision to release Rs. 5,000 each to farmers not governed by waiver scheme. Three-day schemeThe Chief Minister is leaving the city on Sunday morning for a three-day visit to Delhi. He will make efforts to ensure the presence of all MPs from the city on July 22 when the trust vote takes place. He is likely to return only on Wednesday morning.
