Power holiday

CHENNAI: Residents of Chengalpattu Municipality will not have power supply from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

This will come into force on Monday. In Madurantakam Municipality, the disruption will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m, according to a press release issued on Saturday by L. Udayakumar, Superintending Engineer of the Chengalpattu Electricity Distribution Circle of the Electricity Board.

In town panchayats too, the disruption would be for two hours. Industrial units coming under the control of the Chengalpattu circle would have power holiday on Monday (6 a.m. on Monday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday).

As for agricultural connections, four-hour supply during the day would be given on Sundays and Mondays. On other days, supply would be for six hours. During night, the eight-hour supply would continue.

The release said that there would be no power supply in the rural areas for four hours on Sundays and Mondays, two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening.
