“Deploy Navy in Palk Strait”

CHENNAI: The All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi has appealed to the Centre to deploy Indian Navy in Palk Strait to enable Tamil fishermen to carry out their fishing activities peacefully.

In a statement here on Saturday, party president R. Sarath Kumar said the Centre should not only condemn the attack on Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy but also try to arrive at a permanent solution to the issue by entering into an agreement with the Island government. — Special Correspondent
