VISAKHAPATNAM: Several voluntary organisations working in North Andhra have finalised an action plan to sustain and strengthen child rights campaign by having a network of NGOs. Dhimsa Foundation evolved the operational strategies of elaborate advocacy campaigns and issue-based field campaigns after a recent workshop conducted by DKA-Austria, a resource group, Nature, a child rights advocacy NGO and Mahita, which campaigns on functional rights. The meeting held here resolved to intensify the campaign through posters and leaflets and sensitizing the tribal and non-tribal students in backward areas on their rights. Violation deploredThey also expressed concern at violation of child rights and the apathy of some officials in taking stringent action against people showing disrespect to children and their rights. The resource persons who spoke included Philips of CWC (Ranga Reddy district), Elango from DKA-Austria, Balaraju of Nature and Ramesh of Mahita.
