Perambalur
PERAMBALUR: Two workers of a stone quarry at Elambalur near here were injured on Sunday when detonators planted in the area went off accidentally. Police identified the workers as T. Veeranchetty (47) and A. Krishnan (23) of M.G.R. Nagar near Elambalur. The incident happened when the workers were checking some of the detonators planted on Saturday. They suffered multiple injuries, as the rubble fell over them. Both were admitted to the K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Hospital in Tiruchi. Police arrested quarry manager Pitchaipandi and were investigating.
