SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh Secretariat of CPI(M) alleged said here on the weekend that the State BJP led by Prem Kumar Dhumal has a dichotomised stand on various issues including the issue of giving sanction to set up induction furnaces in the State. State Secretary of CPI(M) Rakesh Singha said that the BJP Government had earlier, when in Opposition, opposed and called the allotment of arc and induction furnaces as the biggest scandal in the history of the State. This had prominently figured in the charge sheet submitted by the party to the State Governor in the year 2004. Now doing the somersault the BJP is encouraging the same in Himachal Pradesh. The new induction furnaces in Sirmaur would consume 88 MWs of power and that would be provided by the “loss making State Electricity Board”, he said. The CPI(M) has also demanded a white paper on the industrial policy of the State so that it could be made transparency and broader guidelines could be worked out.
