Rourkela: A life term convict at the special jail, who had been suffering from TB, died at the Rourkela General Hospital here as jail inmates sat on a fast for sometime to protest the death. Hospital sources said Raj Kumar Mahakud (38) was taken to the hospital last night after he complained of severe chest pain and died afterwards. Mahakud was undergoing treatment at V.S.S. Medical College Hospital at Burla and was taken back to the jail after being discharged three days ago. He was sentenced life-term in March 1996 after being convicted in a murder case.
