Going strong: Rajashree Cement Factory at Malkhed in Sedam Taluk of Gulbarga District. GULBARGA: The Aditya Birla Group owned Rajashree Cement Factory at Malkhed in Sedam taluk of Gulbarga district has achieved the distinction of producing 4.7 million tonnes of clinker and 5 million tonnes of cement per year. Executive president of the factory A.K. Pillai, told journalists that a part of the clinker produced in the unit is transported to a crushing plant in Hotgi. Substantial portion of the cement production, however, is handled by the three units of the factory in Malkhed, he said. Minimum wageP.K. Jain, General Manager (HRD) said that the factory was one of the few factories in the country, which paid higher minimum wages and also a bonus to the contract labourers working in the factory. Mr. Jain said apart from the minimum wage of Rs. 112 a day paid to the contract labourers, Rs. 60 was paid as an incentive every day.
