DABWALI: The administration has relaxed curfew for four hours in Dabwali, the place where a bloody clash between followers of Dera Sacha Sauda and Sikhs took place on Friday. “The situation in Dabwali is normal now. There will be a relaxation in curfew from one pm to five pm,” Deputy Commissioner V Umashankar told PTI. He, however said, “if situation continues to be normal during the relaxation period, curfew will be lifted. But it will remain during the night till further orders.” A curfew had been imposed in Dabwali at Sirsa district on Friday following a clash between followers of Dera Sacha Sauda and Sikhs which left one dead and dozens injured. Dera allegationMeanwhile, the Dera Sacha Sauda on Sunday alleged administrative officials and police in Haryana of being silent spectators “when armed people disrupted its prayer meetings”. Referring to the incidents at Dabwali town on July 18, Dera spokesman Aditya Insan said “some anti-social elements attacked its followers who were busy in peaceful meditation and the melee and stampede that followed claimed the life of an innocent Sikh”. He claimed that when rioters were “busy setting shops and houses on fire, the police at Dabwali instead of controlling them preferred to remain mute spectators”. He asserted that such “unsavoury happenings could have been prevented by the police and administration”. He said state committees of Dera will hold meetings on July 22 to “chalk out future course of action to deal with the critical situation being faced by Dera followers”. - PTI
