Six convicted in four cases

BANGALORE: The 5th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate pronounced judgments in four cases, in the past 15 days.

A man found guilty of cheating his employer was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000.

Maruthi had stolen three cheques of Amit Kumar Mehta, owner of Mehta Marketing Company, and forged his signature to withdraw Rs. 90,000 from a bank. A case in this regard was registered with the Basaveshwara Police Station in 1997.

A. Ganesh was sentenced to one-year imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs. 2,000 for harassing his wife. The case was registered in 1998.

In a case of harassment for dowry, Dhanakumar was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, and slapped a fine of Rs. 17,000. The case was registered in 2004.

The court sentenced three persons to three years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 each in a case of burglary registered in 2005. Ravi, Srinivasa and Anil had taken away gold ornaments from a house in Basaveshwaranagar.
