DUBAI: The ICC has delayed its decision on whether Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy in September amid security concerns. A security briefing was held on Sunday in Dubai for the eight countries taking part in the tournament. The ICC said in a statement that fears were raised about potential security threats beyond the Pakistan Cricket Board’s control. The ICC Board will make a final decision on the tournament later this week. The statement said the Sep. 11-28 tournament will proceed in Pakistan for now. Defending champion Australia, England and New Zealand are all scheduled to play in the tournament, but their governments have advised citizens against visiting Pakistan. — AP
