VISAKHAPATNAM: After getting recognition as partner institution to the prestigious Indira Gandhi National Open University under its Convergence Scheme, Mrs. A.V.N. College here has introduced four new courses from the current academic year. The four courses, Diploma in Creative Writing in English (DCE), Diploma in Tourism Studies (DTS), Certificate in Laboratory Techniques (CPLT) and Certificate in Environment Studies (CES), have commenced. The courses are not only open to students of Mrs. A.V.N. College and other colleges but also to employees as well as the unemployed. The classes are held in suitable timings like in the evening, vacation and holidays, according to college principal. JK centreThe Commissioner of Collegiate Education of the State Government has sanctioned the prestigious Jawahar Knowledge Centre to the college. The centre, along with the placement cell of the college, will look into various aspects of career and job opportunities for students of the college, adds the principal.
