Tractor driver shot dead

PERAMBALUR: A tractor driver was shot dead by some unidentified persons early on Sunday.

The police said the incident happened when Chandran of Kolakkanatham village was fast asleep in front of his father-in-law’s house. The assailants, who came by two-wheelers, sped away after killing him and setting afire an adjoining house.

K. Shanmugavel, Superintendent of Police, Karur, holding additional charge of Perambalur, inspected the scene of crime. The police have registered a case.
