Clean sweep for Santosh

HYDERABAD: Team TVS Racing’s C. S. Santosh led from the front in fashioning a clean sweep for TVS Racing Team in the first-leg of the 2008 MRF Supercross Challenge held at NTR Stadium Grounds here on Sunday.

Santosh won the first and the second moto of the prestigious foreign open class riding on his TVS-RTS 250 fx and in the process picked maximum points and was rightfully adjudged ‘best rider of the day’.

An accident to Veer Patel of Pashankar Racing in foreign class in the third lap after leading in the first one saw him concede the lead to Santosh, who never looked back from then onwards. The other contender from TVS Racing, K. P. Aravind, did not have much luck as the TVS RTS 125 got stalled and he was forced to withdraw while Eeshan Lokhande finished second and Veer Patel came third.

Santosh, Veer Patel and Lokhande of Pashankar Racing took the podium in the final points tally of the Foreign Open Group A finishing first, second and third respectively.

The first moto of Group B Indian Experts up to 165 cc saw a clear winner in Santosh on his TVS Shaolin even though team mate H. K. Pradeep put up a stiff fight.

The Results: Class I – Indian Experts – Foreign category Group A (up to 250 cc): 1. C. S. Santosh (TVS Racing), 2. Eeshan Lokhande (Pashankar Racing), 3. Veer Patel (Pashankar Racing).

Moto II: 1. C. S. Santosh, 2. Veer Patel, 3. K.P. Aravind (TVS Racing).

Overall leader and best rider of the day: C. S. Santosh.

Class III - Indian Experts Group B (upto 165 cc): Moto I: 1. Santosh, 2. H. K. Pradeep (TVS Racing), Aravind.

Moto II: 1. Santosh, 2. Aravind, 3. Pradeep.

Class II - Indian Novice – Group C (up to 165 cc): 1. R. Nataraj (Team TVS), 2. Snehal Chavan (Pashank Racing), 3. Sameer Choudhary (Nagpur).

Class V - Indian Experts – Class C (up to 165 cc): Moto I: 1. Pradeep (Team TVS Racing), 2. Vishal Barguje (Pune), 3. Nataraj.

Moto II: 1. Pradeep, 2. Basheer Ahmed (Bangalore), 3. Pinkesh Thakkar (Pashankar Racing).

Class VII: Locals - Group B (up to 165 cc): 1. Vishal Rocharamani, 2. Muneer Khambati, 3. K. Yeshaswi. — Principal Correspondent
