Sir, — The residents of 4th Main, 4th Cross, HRBR II block, Kalyan Nagar are facing acute water shortage. The Cauvery water supply, which was scanty, has completely stopped for the past many months. The bore-wells in the area have also gone dry. Residents have been forced to depend on tankers for water supply. Repeated appeals through elected representatives have fallen on deaf ears of the authorities. Will the authorities please take note? R. Radhakrishnan Bangalore No footpathsSir, — There are no footpaths on either side of Bangalore-Magadi main road after Sunkadakatte. T he roadsides are not only uneven but also full of stones and pits. Pedestrians have difficulty crossing the road to catch buses at the Herohalli Cross due to heavy vehicular traffic. Traffic police should be provided at the cross for the safety of people, particularly children. K.R. Raghavendra Rao, Bangalore No place to playSir, — We have learnt that the Guru Nanak Bhavan is being handed over to the National School of Drama (NSD). This is shocking news for us, the schoolchildren. The auditorium was used by the children for cultural programmes throughout the year, and the annex building for table tennis coaching and tournaments. Where will we practise TT hereafter? I request the Government of Karnataka not to hand over the building to NSD. Shreyas P. Harle, Bangalore Readers can send their letters to: letters.bangalore @thehindu.co.in
