BANGALORE: A 14-year-old physically challenged boy was killed when he was hit by an autorickshaw near his house in Sanjeevini Nagar 9th Main on Sunday. The police said Raghavendra, a 7th Standard student of Carmel School, was playing on the footpath adjoining his house. The autorickshaw driver lost control over the vehicle and hit the boy. He then reportedly sped away from the spot. Raghavendra’s father K.M. Mahadeva took the help of the residents and took his son to Sarvodaya Hospital, where he died. The Vijayanagar traffic police have registered a case and are searching for the driver. Labourer killedNarasimha (40), a labourer was killed on the spot when he was hit by a passenger vehicle in Amrutahalli on Bellary Road on Sunday. The police said Narasimha, a native of Bagepalli, was working as a labourer since five years. On Sunday, he was going to have a cup of tea by the roadside tea stall when the accident occurred. The Byatarayanapura police have registered a case. A 45-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a maxicab near Reva factory on Bellary Road on Sunday. The Chikkajala police are trying to ascertain the identity of the victim. SuicideA 20-year-old woman hanged herself in her house in Chandra Layout on Sunday. The police said that Divya was married to Santosh, a software engineer, a month ago. She was reportedly not happy with the place where they were staying as it was near a burial ground. On Sunday, she hanged herself when Santosh had gone out to make some purchases. The Chandra Layout police have registered a case. No breakthroughThe Jalahalli police is yet to achieve a breakthrough in the rape and murder of an 13-year-old girl near a row of sheds in Sharadama Nagar on Saturday. The police are questioning the construction labourers living in the shed. They are also questioning representatives of the construction firm which has taken the services of the labourers. “We are working on some clues regarding the assailants,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Syed Ulfath Hussain. CheatedComplaints against the chit fund firms continued with a Koramangala resident complaining about a firm which has allegedly cheated people of Rs. 7 crore. S. Mohan Reddy has filed a complaint against the proprietors of SRY Chits and Associates of defrauding 200 people of Rs. 7 crore. In his complaint to Koramangala police, Mr. Reddy said he had invested Rs. 9 lakh in the firm from June 2007. The firm is being run by K.S. Sridhara Reddy of KHB Colony, Sham of Tavarekere and Raghu of Nagamangala. On July 1, he went along with other investors and found the chit fund firm locked. They later went to the residences of the three proprietors which were also locked. Therefore he filed a complaint against the three persons.
