Birth anniversary



attractive items: Students of Vidya Vikasini Nursery School in Coimbatore at the ‘Fruits Day’ function.

The Corporation High School, Anuparpalayam, celebrated the birth anniversary of Kamarajar on July 15. Officials of the State Bank of India gave away scholarship cheques and uniforms to the students. The bank also announced that it would adopt five girl students – the bank would bear the educational expenses of the selected candidates.

The Government of Tamil Nadu observes former Chief Minister of the State, K.Kamaraj’s birth anniversary as the “Kalvi Valarchi Naal.”

Film show

Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School celebrated Kamarajar’s birth anniversary with a film show.

Fruits Day

A Fruits Day was conducted at the Vidya Vikasini Nursery School recently. Activities related to fruits - ‘tuti-fruity’ games, ‘fruits corner,’ matching, pairing, sorting and collecting of fruits - were part of the programme. Cultural programmes were also organised.

Rally

The students of Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School undertook a rally to stress the importance of saying ‘no’ to plastics. Mayor R.Venkatachalam flagged off the rally. The students carried placards with slogans that urged the public to shun plastics. They distributed paper bags to the people on the streets. Later in the day, a programme on environmental cleanliness was conducted at the school.

Flowers on display

Students of the National Model Kindergarten were introduced to flowers with a flower show organised at the school. The show had a display of various kinds of flowers. The school adopts the practice of learning through actions. The children were dressed up as flowers too. Parents could attend the show.
