Opportunities available for those who excel in any course: Collector

Special Correspondent

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Employment opportunities are available in plenty to those who excel in any course, according to M. Rajendran, Collector of Tiruvannamalai.

Inaugurating the first year classes in the Government Arts College here on Monday, the Collector said that subjects such as history, chemistry, mathematics, zoology, botany and biology were all like the organs of a body, and all of them are important. Students who study well in any of the courses offered in arts and science colleges have good employment opportunities. Students should also read newspapers and other books and improve their general knowledge so that they can appear for competitive examinations such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examinations, he said.

S. Pandian, Principal, Government Arts College, Tiruvannamalai gave the introductory address. A. Mohammed Akbar, Head of the Department of History welcomed the gathering. M. Prabhakaran, Head of the Department of English proposed a vote of thanks.
