Ban on strikes by NTPC staff

HYDERABAD: The government on Monday imposed a ban on strikes by employees in power stations of the National Thermal Power Corporation in the State for a period of six months. It issued an order, bringing these power stations under the purview of the Essential Service Maintenance Act of 1981 (ESMA) which provides for the Union government to delegate powers to the State to take such action with respect to Central undertakings.
