Team work holds key, students told

HYDERABAD: Investiture ceremony and Proficiency awards functions constituted the highlights of the Foundation Day celebrated by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School at Jubilee Hills on July 5.

Inspector-General of Police and Director of Police Communications Tenneti Krishna Prasad attended the function as the chief guest.

He laid stress on the spirit of leadership, team work with good strategies for success, and importance of divergent thinking and creativity in students.

Cautioning the students about the child security, he said, “A child outside school is a child trafficked.”

The school prefects were invested with colours and responsibilities on the occasion. The School Prefectorial Board led by Vamsi Krishna Shreyas (Head Boy), and Meera Gautam (Head Girl) was administered the oath by the chief guest.

Orchids-The International School

It was investiture time for Orchids-The International School too.

The school organised the ceremony on July 18. Lt. Col. M.C.Joshi, Education Officer, Artillery Centre, was the chief guest while the Guest of Honour was M. Venkatanarayana, Chairman of the Gowtham Educational Institutions.

Vidya of Class X was unanimously chosen as the school captain.

Also appointed were junior captains and junior vice-captains from all the houses.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir

Prayers and group meditation were conducted by the staff and students of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir at Kondapur to mark Guru Purnima on July 18.

Children participated in the Vedic Science competitions held on the occasion. Maharishi World Peace Movement was inaugurated at Jabalpur on the same day where the Principal of the school Vasanthy Parasuraman was appointed Secretary for the world peace movement for the Hyderabad region.

Gitanjali Devshala

Gitanjali Devshala, Secunderabad had its Investiture and Proficiency Awards Ceremonies in July where the Students Council was given oath of office. The three school toppers with 96 per cent aggregate were felicitated on the occasion.

St.Ann’s JC for Girls

St.Ann’s Junior College for Girls at Bolarum began the year with Freshers’ Day on June 27. The programme which began with a holy mass by father Sagai Raj, also had ‘Miss Fresher’ and ‘Miss Lucky’ contests. Correspondent Bernice and Principal Valsa John felicitated the students.
