PUDUCHERRY: The Department of Art and Culture, Government of Puducherry presented two awards to writer M. Balasubramanian for his literary works. According to a release, Mr. Balasubramanian won the Nehru award for children’s literature and Kamban award for literary work for 2006. His works — a collection of poems “Vazhapiranthom” and another book “Nadai Vandi” got him the awards. The awards was presented to him on the occasion of birthday celebrations of poet Vanithasanar, the press release added.
