VIZIANAGARAM: The row over the link road from RTC Complex to Leela Mahal theatre deepened with 24th ward councillor Baliwada Appa Rao (TDP) observing relay fast at the RTC Complex on Tuesday demanding that the municipality clear the blockade and restore traffic on the road for the benefit of 30 families and other bus passengers. According to the councillor, after a medical practitioner built a nursing home abutting the road, the APSRTC, claiming rights on the narrow road, blocked it by placing a bus and thus caused inconvenience to 30 families living there. In a letter addressed to the Municipal Commissioner, Tehsildar of Vizianagaram clarified on July 18 that the road was not alienated to APSRTC and it was vested with the Government for public purpose, Mr. Appa Rao said. The councillor has threatened to paralyse council meeting scheduled on August 3 if the Municipal Chairperson and the Commissioner fail to restore normalcy by then.
