This Day That Age
Mr. Hashim Jawad, nominee of the new Iraqi regime to the United Nations, on July 21 welcomed India’s inclusion among the Big Four invited by Russia to discuss the Middle East situation and said, “India should be invited to any Summit conference by right.” Paying tributes to India as the champion of the cause of countries fighting for freedom and as a peace maker, Mr. Jawad told the PTI, “My government believes that India should occupy a higher place in international counsels by her own right. We consider India as being in the vanguard of nations fighting for the liberation of under developed countries and we believe that India works sincerely for international peace without any axe to grind.”
