Sandeep scalps six

TIRUCHI: S. Sandeep Kumar scalped six wickets as Kancheepuram defeated Nilgiris by 150 runs in a ‘B’ zone league encounter of the TNCA under-19 inter-district cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

At Tiruchi: ‘B’ zone: Kancheepuram 279 for six in 50 overs (A.C. Partheeban 52, A. Arif 51 not out, N.S. Chaturved 51, S. Sandeep Kumar 32 not out, Kevin Sukumar 32, Pasupatheeswaran three for 42) bt Nilgiris 129 in 43.3 overs (V. Vinu 50, S. Sandeep Kumar six for 32).

Tiruchi 122 in 36 overs (V. Pradeep Krishna 36, Amarnath three for 23) lost to Tiruvannamalai 126 for eight in 21.1 overs (Thom Sachinder four for 28).

At Nagapattinam: ‘D’ zone: Virudunagar 82 in 27.5 overs (Godson four for 36, Selvam three for 13) lost to Kanyakumari 83 for three in 15.3 overs (Nijin 43 not out).

Dindigul 285 for four in 50 overs (Mahmood 111, Abdul Rahim 82) bt Dharmapuri 184 in 46.5 overs (Sathish 54, Ramachandran 34, Ayyanar five for 24, Ansari four for 23).

At Neyveli: ‘E’ zone: Ramanathapuram 340 for six in 50 overs (K. Guruprakasamoorthy 84, Lakshminarayanan 80 not out, Saran Jayakumar 63, Mohammed Yasser 38, L. Durai Ajith Kumar 31) bt Perambalur 177 in 33.3 overs (K. Rajkumar 51, K. Babu 34, I. Wahid Khan three for 13).
