PSNA clinches title

Ramanathapuram: PSNA College of Engineering and Technology (Dindigul) won the men’s team title in the Anna University zone IX badminton tournament with a 3-2 victory over Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, in the final here on Tuesday.

The results (final): PSNA bt TCE 3-2 (Bragadesh Guhan lost to Sunil 23-21, 17-21, 14-21; Narendranath lost to Isanth 22-20, 17-21, 17-21; Rajkumar & Isanth bt Bragadesh & Narenthanath 21-14, 21-12; Rajkumar bt Sanjith 21-9, 21-8; Sunil & Gowtham bt Sanjith & Ramasankar 21-13, 21-10.

Third place: Mount Zion CE (Pudukottai) bt Alagappa Chettiar College of Engg. (Karaikudi) 3-0; Chandrasekar bt Adithyabharathi 21-10; 21-13; Vignesh bt Rajthilak 9-21, 21-15, 21-13; Chandrasekar & Arulandapraveen bt Rajthilak & Jegadesh 21-10, 21-13.

Semifinals: TCE bt ACCET (Karaikudi) 3-0; PSNA bt Mount Zion CE 3-1.

Nadar HSS in last four

Nadar HSS (Rajapalayam) entered the semifinals of the sixth annual Kannan-Eswari Trust Trophy State-level inter-school volleyball tournament, defeating Sethupathy HSS (Madurai) 25-5, 25-8 at Madurai on Tuesday.
