40 KAS officers yet to file statement of assets, liabilities

Bangalore: More than ten per cent (40) of the 354 Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officers have failed to furnish details of their assets and liabilities, and they will be served notice to do so.

Disclosing this in reply to a question by C.S. Putte Gowda and H.D. Revanna (both Janata Dal-S) in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, Public Works Minister C.M. Udasi said they had been given three months to provide the information.

The officers in question are R.R. Jannu, S. Narasimhaiah, G. Jayaram, V. Shankar, S. Shankaranarayana, B.S. Shivaswamy, S.P. Anjan Kumar, M.S. Channappa Gowda, N. Jayaram, Mir Hafeez Ahmed, S.S. Pujar, N.M. Panali, M.R. Ramanna, E. Radhakrishna, A. Chandrasekharappa, H.R. Mahadeva, V. Mohan Kumar, R. Narayana, B. Nagaraj, B.B. Cauvery, A.P. Kerappanavar, H.M. Kempegowda, A.R. Panduranga, B.S. Patri, Radhakrishnarao Madankar, D.K. Ravindranath, B.B. Ramakrishna, B. Rajanna, K.C. Sreeramaiah, Syed Aijaz Ahmed, Sirasagi Nagappa, M.R. Somasekharappa, M. Shashidhar, Syed Abdul Rub, R. Srinivas, M.R. Hiremath, Hiteshmul Haq, N.M. Neelakantha, Nagaraja, M. Thimmappa, R. Srinivas, H.T. Chandrasekhar and B.T. Rajanna.

The Minister said the Government had gone into the statements of assets and liabilities furnished by officers, given when they joined service and now, and action was being taken to get an explanation from them about the difference.

Mr. Udasi said the Lokayukta had raided the premises of five KAS officers — A. Marigowda, A. Manjunath Naik, B.H. Siddappa, K.P. Honakeri and R. Rameshappa.
