HAVERI: Fifteen resolutions, including one urging that Karnataka be declared drought affected, were adopted during the State-level farmers’ convention organised by the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha here on Monday. The convention was held in memory of farmers Siddalingappa Choori and Puttappa Honnatti who died as a result of police firing in Haveri, and to commemorate the farmers’ revolt at Navalgund and Naragund, commonly known as “Naragund Bandaya.” The meet was of the view that the compensation given to the family members of the two farmers was not sufficient and demanded that it be enhanced to Rs. 10 lakh.
