KURNOOL: CPI(M) district secretary T. Shadrak expressed concern over the large scale hoarding of essential commodities in the godowns of Kurnool district. Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said it was unfortunate that the hoarding was flourishing in the district to which the Civil Supplies Minister was in-charge Minister. On one side, the people were reeling under high prices and the poor were unable to buy food. On the other, the middlemen and traders piled up huge stocks of essential commodities with the connivance of the political leadership and certain government departments. Mr. Shadrak said shortage of seed and fertilisers had badly hit the farming community. Party city secretary K. Prabhakar Reddy was also present at the press meet.
