Jaipur: The body of Major Bhanu Pratap Singh, who sacrificed his life during a gun battle with militants in Jammu and Kashmir last week, was today consigned to flames with State and military honour. Major Singh, who was 31, died during an anti-militancy operation in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district. His son Rudrapratap ignited the pyre at Lalkothi cremation ground here as jawans of 11th Battalion of Rajputana Rifles gave a reverse gun salute. Major Singh’s father Rajendra Singh Rathore is the Additional Superintendent of Police in Bharatpur.
