DEHRA DUN: The Khanduri Government has announced a new facility of providing MBBS education at an annual fee of Rs.15,000 to candidates willing to serve the State for five years after the completion of the degree course. Announcing this here on Tuesday, the State Principal Secretary for Medical Education, Vijendra Pal, said the step had been initiated to ensure medical care at or near the very large number of remote villages where doctors do not prefer a government job or to set up a private practice. Candidates willing to bail out of the five-year service bond would be able to do so by paying Rs.35 lakh to the Government, Mr. Pal said. There are a total of 160 MBBS seats with the Government at the medical colleges in Srinagar (Garhwal) and Haldwani.
