‘Commando’ editor passes away

HYDERABAD: Vinukonda Nagaraju, 64, senior journalist and founder-editor of ‘Commando’ weekly, died here on Monday night after a brief illness. He is survived by wife and three sons. Nagaraju, who hailed from West Godavari district, was a well-known writer. He was selected for the Central Sahitya Academy award for his novel ‘Uoobilo Dunna’ but declined it. He had worked in UNI and Indian Express before launching the weekly.
