MADURAI: The 98th batch of Training of Trainers Course began at the Regional Directorate of Central Board for Workers’ Education here last week. Inaugurating the course, L. Tharabai, Head, Department of Sociology, Madurai Kamaraj University, stressed the importance of education in the life of workers in shaping their personalities. She pointed out that with a changing work culture due to the influx of multinational companies, it had become mandatory for workers to update their knowledge and face the challenges. Workers’ education would play a major in role in updating their knowledge besides bringing in an attitudinal change. P. Ananadarajkumar, Reader, Department of Rural Development, Gandhigram Rural University, spoke. B. Prabhakaran, Regional Director (in-charge), Central Board for Workers’ Education, presided. The 45-day training programme will go on till August 22.
