Motorcyclist falls and dies

CHENNAI: A young engineer on a motorcycle had a fatal fall from the two-wheeler on a bridge near Egmore on Monday night.

Police said A.Krishnamurthy (22) of Ullagaram, employed as a mechanical engineer in a private firm in Chindradripet, was returning home on a motorcycle when he lost balance and fell.

He suffered grievous head injury and died soon after he was admitted in a hospital nearby.

The victim was not wearing a helmet though he had one fastened to his motorcycle.

The Anna Square traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
