Krishna on top

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna made 260 in 84 overs against Guntur on the opening day of the two-day ACA Central Zone U-22 inter-district tournament final at Guntur on Tuesday. Guntur was tottering at 44 for seven at stumps.

A century by Krishna’s Sandeep (121) and six for 58 haul by R.V. Nagarjuna of Guntur, including a hat-trick, were the highlights of the day.

The scores: Krishna 260 in 84 overs (V. Sandeep 121, A. G. Pradeep 47, R.V. Nagarjuna six for 58) vs. Guntur 44 for seven in 24 overs (M. Dinesh Kumar three for 18).

Central in command

Central Zone restricted South Zone to 140, thus garnering a first innings lead of 147 runs at the end of the second day’s play in the three-day ACA U-19 inter-zone tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores: Central Zone 287 and 44 for two in 18 overs vs. South Zone 140 in 80.2 overs (G.B.P. Bhargav 47, R. Atchuth Kumar four for 29, B. Krishna Teja three for 36). — Sports Reporter
