Here’s a chance to learn Italian in 45 days

Staff Reporter

Each level of the course costs Rs. 5,500

There will be seven students in each batch

Bangalore: With more and more people choosing to learn a foreign language, The Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) now offers students the opportunity to learn Italian. Restarting their operations after a one-and-a-half-year hiatus, the course has been structured into three levels — basic, advanced and conversational.

The basic level is a 30-hour course, which is spread over a month or 45 days. It develops basic conversational skills in students after which they can use simple, everyday expressions. The second and third levels — both advanced and conversational — are 48 hours long, and spread over two to three months. With these levels, they can communicate more efficiently. After the third level, the students can produce simple connected text on topics familiar to them.

Diploma certificate

The students will be examined on the three modules after the courses, and on completing the texts successfully, they will get a diploma certificate from the Italian Embassy. “The growing importance of communication with non-English speaking countries to facilitate both business and trade has encouraged us to offer this course,” said V. Shashikanth, Chairman of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce. Assistant Manager Tahera Cutleriwala adds that learning the language could help students pursuing higher studies in Italy. “Business with Italian counterparts also requires basic knowledge of Italian,” she adds.
