Sardar Vallabhai Patel termed a great leader Forum For Better Bapatla inaugurated BAPATLA: Cleaning of drains, fogging and other mosquito eradication activities were launched on Wednesday in all 34 wards of the town to wage a war against mosquitoes. A statue of Sardar Vallabhai Patel was unveiled by Tenali Revenue Divisional Officer I. Venkateswara Reddy on Tuesday night. At the same function the sanitation drive was also formally launched. At a small meeting got up on the occasion the Revenue Divisional Officer said that Patel was a great leader who fought not only for country’s freedom but also for its unity. The Iron Man of India was responsible for keeping India united at crucial times, the TDO observed. At the function, the RDO also formally inaugurated ‘Forum For Better Bapatla’. The Meeting was presided over by forum convener P.C. Sai Babu. Bapatla Municipal Commissioner S. Siva Ramakrishna, society secretary W.A.G.K. Murthy also spoke. All 34 wards of the town would be covered in a week’s time starting from Wednesday, the Municipal Commissioner said.
