Youth Congress protests against defections

CHIKMAGALUR: Members of the Youth Congress staged a demonstration here on Wednesday to protest against the defection of Congress MLAs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. They criticised Ministers from Bellary district who are mine owners for having “engineered” the defection.

They burned an effigy of the MLAs at Hanumanthappa Circle. Stressing the need for nuclear power to meet the future energy needs of the country, they wanted action to be taken against those who made allegations against Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha during the trust vote.
