Nanaiah is JD(S) Floor Leader in Legislative Council

BANGALORE: Former Minister M.C. Nanaiah was on Wednesday appointed Floor Leader of the Janata Dal (Secular) in the Legislative Council.
N. Thippanna, who is officiating as Chairman of the House, announced the appointment on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Home Minister V.S. Acharya assured the House that the election to the post of Chairman would be held before the commencement of the next legislature session.
The post has been lying vacant since the retirement of B.K. Chandrashekar recently.Congress members expressed concern over the delay in holding the election.
Certificates
Revenue Minister K. Karunakara Reddy told the House that he had directed officials to issue income and caste certificates to students within seven to ten days of making applications.
The Minister said he would discuss with officials of various departments the issue of simplifying procedures for granting these certificates.
Simplification of procedures would help in expediting the issue of certificates, which would be required at the time of admissions to educational institutions.
