Cheating case: retired APPSC official held
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: The city police on Wednesday arrested M. Christopher, retired deputy secretary of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, who allegedly tried to collect money from youths assuring them to provide government jobs.
In a sting operation, a Telugu TV news channel recorded visuals showing the retired official assuring the youth of jobs in Group-II services on payment of Rs 3 lakh, according to a press release. The news was telecast four months ago prompting the APPSC authorities to lodge a complaint.
A case under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of IPC was registered following the complaint.
