Lalith Mohan scalps five

HYDERABAD: Lalith Mohan’s five for 52 helped Deccan Chronicle record a 10-wicket win over Ensconse in the A-Division (three-day) league cricket championship match here on Wednesday.

The scores: A-Division (three-day) league: Ensconse 276 & 168 (Mohd Imran Khan 45, A. Lalith Mohan five for 52) lost to Deccan Chronicle 438 and seven for no loss.

A-Division (two-day) league: Vijay Hanuman 362 (Sangram Reddy 80, Maqbool Baig 68, Sami Ansari 62, Ayub Baig 52, Sunil four for 95, Akash Bhandari four for 52) bt Megacity 237 (Surya Teja 62, Anand 44, Mirza Ayub Baig five for 80).

Kings XI 376 (Dinesh 92, Sundeep 84, Ashrith 61, Athar 46) bt Telangana 169 (Shiv Kumar 80, Rajesh 46, Sandeep six for 63).

Hakeem, Appoorva win

M. A. Hakeem and S. Appoorva won the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively in the GHMC annual ranking carom tournament at Victory Playground here.

Men’s singles: Final: M. A. Hakeem bt L. Surya Prakash 17-25, 25-24, 25-12. 3rd place: Sai Santosh bt D. Ravinder Goud 25-20, 25-15.

Women singles final: S. Appoorva bt P. Nirmala 25-7, 22-25, 25-20. 3rd place: U. Savitha Devi bt K. Padmaja 25-9, 25-22.

Men’s doubles final: L. Surya Prakash / E. Ashok Kumar bt M. A. Hakeem / Sharukh Khan 12-25, 25-13, 25-17. 3rd place: R. D. Dinesh Babu / V. Anil Kumar bt M. A. Hakeem / G. Shiv Kumar 25-15, 25-0.

Double for Pranjala

Y. Pranjala bagged a ‘double’ winning the girls under-10 and the under-12 singles titles in the G. K. Rama Rao sub-junior tennis tournament at Administrative Staff College of India here.

The results (finals): Girls: Under-10: Y. Pranjala bt Harshitha Rao 6-0, 6-1. Under-12: Y. Pranjala bt K. Srija 6-1, 2-6, 6-3. Under-14: B. Amrutha bt K. Srija 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Boys: Under-10: P. TCS recorded two wins in the fourth Champions Trophy T-20 cricket tournament for corporate groups being held here.

The scores: TCS 142 for nine (Suresh 47, Srinivas four for 25) bt HSBC 128 for eight; Sum Total 132 for nine (Sameer 84, Mahesh four for 22) lost to Techpoint Solutions 135 for three (Ilias 55 not out, Mukthar Ali 53 not out); Tata XI 201 for seven (Rishi Raj 73) bt Innominds 51 (Sridhar four for 14); IBM 132 lost to Qualcomm 133 for five (Vaidhya 48); Applabs 143 for eight (Vinay 48) lost to TCS 146 for five.
