THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Tourism’s arts festival ‘Utsavam’ and consumer travel brochure have bagged the coveted PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Gold Awards 2008.
The year-long cultural festival, Utsavam, that featured the traditional art forms of Kerala in 36 centres across the State, won the award in the culture section of the heritage and culture category while the brochure got the award in the marketing media category
In addition to Kerala Tourism, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tourism New Zealand and Tourism Malaysia were the multiple winners of the 22 PATA Gold Awards.
The Grand Awards went to Singapore Airlines in the marketing category; Delhi Tourism & Transportation Development Corporation for heritage; Nihiwatu Resort, Indonesia for environment; and Cinnamon Island
Alidhoo, Maldives for education and training.
The awards will be given away at a special luncheon meet at the PATA Travel Mart 2008 on September 19 in Hyderabad.
